MARK MANN

MEET THE ATHLETE

In June of 2013, Mark's life would change forever. Shortly after falling off his jet ski, Mark was run over by a boat and his legs were struck by the propeller. Mark remained conscious for 40 minutes until he was loaded into a medavac helicopter, directing those around him in hope of increasing his chances of survival.

Although the odds were extremely slim, by God’s grace Mark survived. However upon arriving at the hospital both of his legs would be amputated below the knee. Three months later, Mark would relearn how to walk, and shortly after he was itching to get back to his active lifestyle, although he wasn’t sure what that would look like.

In March of 2016, Mark attended the US Nationals at Copper Mountain after only snowboarding a hand full of times. It was after this event that Mark decided to pursue his dream of competing in the Paralympics.

Mark had a great debut season and stood on top of the podium in 13 of the 15 events he competed in. Mark capped off this season by taking home the Boardercross Globe, finishing second overall in the world, and taking third at World Championships! Mark now has his eyes set on bringing home a medal   from the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics!
